About this piece: This painting is an exploration of nesting, a feeling my husband and I experienced during the first weeks after giving birth.
I remember how much of those early days were spent simply holding our baby in our arms, keeping him close to our bodies, sharing our warmth through skin-to-skin contact, and allowing him to feel safe in a world he had only just entered.
There is something so intimate about those first moments of life together. The way time seems to slow down, how our arms become their first home, and how something as simple as holding them carries so much love and meaning.
Through this piece, I wanted to preserve that feeling of closeness, warmth, and protection. A fleeting chapter of parenthood that is almost impossible to put into words, yet remains forever held within our hearts and memories.
