All That I Am Becoming

About this piece: After giving birth, you’re never quite the same person again. Some parts of yourself change, others feel lost for a while, and some you discover for the very first time.

We don’t return to who we were before. Instead, we grow into someone new, carrying pieces of who we’ve always been.

It takes days, months, and sometimes years to understand, embrace, and appreciate this new version of ourselves. All while nurturing another human being who depends entirely on us.

Somewhere between caring for them, watching them grow, and learning to let go, we begin rediscovering ourselves, too.

Motherhood isn’t only about raising a child. It’s also about growing alongside them, learning who we are becoming, and finding beauty in the parts of ourselves we never knew existed.
