DesignTO 2025

I have been so excited to share this secret. I am thrilled that my project "Iluminacion" has been selected to be part of 2025 DesignTO Festival!

About Iluminación

The winter months are the darkest days of the year. The lack of sun and shortness of daylight causes us to fall in a state of melancholy. ‘Iluminación’ by Desiree Martinez explores the recession of light during winter. We, humans, feel confined and in urge to immerse ourselves in any kind of illumination. Lamps are used longer during this darker season. Such device, becomes our alternative and our guide through the absence of daylight.

A series of hand-built lamps will showcased as a window installation at VdeV from January 24 to Feb 2.
