About this piece: This piece is about the foundation we create as parents—the love, care, and support that allow a family to grow.
I painted the two vases as symbols of what we provide. The yellow vase represents the sun: warmth, affection, and the feeling of being loved. The blue vase represents water: nourishment and what we need to survive and grow.
At the centre is the child, surrounded by the structure the parents have built around her/him. I wanted this piece to reflect how family is not only something we create, but something we continue to nurture. Like a seed taking root, we give our children a place where they can feel safe, loved, and supported as they grow into themselves.
