Collection: Where blue begins

I’ve been waiting for June to share this deeply personal new style of painting with you. 💙

When I turned 11, my mother asked me to let my younger brother share my birthday—to pretend it was his as well. At the time, I didn’t understand why. Just a few weeks later, my brother passed away from leukemia.

The truth is, I never truly healed. It wasn’t until I began painting that I found a way to begin processing those feelings. Art became a form of healing, a space where I could revisit and explore my childhood memories.

Blue, for me, represents life. It brings calmness—but also carries sadness. This new body of work blends the simplicity of my classic black and white pieces with subtle touches of blue. That hint of colour serves as a quiet reminder: simplicity is the beginning of everything.

This series is dedicated to my brother, Axel—strong, confident, and full of light. He was a champ. I miss him every day, and I strive to live life to the fullest in his memory. I love you, Axel.
