About this piece: I painted this piece thinking about the motherhood transition of holding and releasing. How first, we carried them within us. Then suddenly, they are in our hands. Tiny enough to fit against our skin, slowly growing beyond it. How first they belong entirely within us. And little by little we guide them toward the world and who they are becoming.
